Technology and AI stocks are experiencing heightened volatility due to the recent emergence of a highly competent AI model in China, which was reportedly developed at a fraction of the most advanced US AI models.
This has called into question the levels of capital expenditure needed to produce cutting edge AI models and the growth outlook of the semiconductor sector, as investors assess whether it is time to take profit on AI-related stocks that have rallied sharply.
What does this mean for the tech sector? How will this impact adjacent sectors leveraged to AI, and what does this mean for investment portfolios?
